The\u00a0School is managed by Rector Dr\u00a0Alek\u00adsandra Aszkie\u0142owicz, nominated for the title of Charismatic Woman<\/em> for her authentic leadership and skilful building of master-apprentice relationships, by\u00a0Chancellor Stanis\u0142aw Widocki \u2013 the\u00a0founder, and Mateusz Widocki \u2013 Deputy Chancellor, nominated for the title of Leader by vocation<\/em> in recognition of effective and responsible management as well as creation of a\u00a0modern and\u00a0approachable academic space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 The nature of our courses is mainly practical \u2013 notes the Rector. \u2013 We offer well-equipped offices and classrooms, where students are able to gain real professional experience. We also cooperate with local institutions, offices and schools \u2013 graduates often find work in places of their previous internships. Mateusz Widocki, now the vice-chancellor, knows how the School works from the ground up. He\u2019s climbed all the organisational rungs to become a\u00a0leader who effectively manages and supports the School\u2019s development. \u2013 We\u2019re not just a place of learning. \u2013 emphasises the Rector. \u2013 I\u2019ve been involved in long-term social activities, also as a psychotherapist. The School has a foundation, where we organise the Children\u2019s Rights Festival, and where there\u2019s a Family Counselling Centre, I initiated. I want to make the School closer to people \u2013 from children to seniors. The School is licensed to operate for the maximum number of years, which only confirms the quality of its education. It cooperates with universities in Helsinki, Lyon and Bologna, conducting joint research and educational programmes. The Higher School of Human Sciences and Economics educates approximately 7,000 students and listeners in three locations \u2013 Brzeg, Nowy Targ and Tychy.
\u2013 I\u2019ve always had a\u00a0passion for learning, a\u00a0thirst for knowledge \u2013 admits Dr Aleksandra Aszkie\u0142owicz. \u2013 From the earliest of age I\u00a0started playing a\u00a0teacher. My mother used to work as a\u00a0teacher and my father was an educator in the prison service. My parents encouraged me to constant self-development.
The Rector comes from Luba\u0144, studied in Wroc\u0142aw, and now lives in O\u0142awa. A\u00a0pedagogue by education, with a\u00a0doctorate in social sciences, she has been successfully managing the school for ten years now, giving it a\u00a0modern yet human character. It\u2019s worth noting that she obtained her doctorate by researching the matter of happiness in marriage.
\u2013 Two hundred couples took part in the survey I\u00a0conducted, and in its in-depth part \u2013 five couples with at least 15 years of marriage, the longest of which lasted 49 years.
She defended her doctoral thesis in 2014 and is currently preparing to publish a\u00a0book on the matter.
\u2013 From my perspective, the master-apprentice relationship is the foundation of the academic community \u2013 she adds. \u2013 We pattern on the University of Helsinki, where I\u00a0did my internship. We\u2019re building a\u00a0space where students are not anonymous.

\u2013 It\u2019s not just a\u00a0position I\u00a0hold. It\u2019s responsibility and trust that must be confirmed by daily action. \u2013 he states. \u2013 My father, the founder, not only gave me his name but also the values he followed. Working with the young gives me lots of energy.
His commitment and partnership approach towards students are widely appreciated and form the basis of the respect he enjoys from both the academic community and co-working colleagues.
\u2013 Our strength lies in closeness and mutual understanding \u2013 students know their lecturers well, and lecturers know the needs and potentials of their students. The School also runs a social-therapy day care centre for children from difficult backgrounds and a University of the Third Age. \u2013 We bring generations together. \u2013 adds Mateusz Widocki. \u2013 We organise artistic events, family festivals, concerts \u2013 everything that helps building a community and nurturing relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\nCourses of the future, education respecting values<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 We\u2019re focused on human development \u2013 says the Rector. \u2013 Our programmes are constantly updated in cooperation with future employers, because we want our graduates to be in real demand on the labour market.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAmbitious plans \u2013 the academy of\u00a0tomorrow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The planned fields of study include logistics, architecture and artistic faculty. \u2013 We have an ambitious staff, strong facilities and a\u00a0clear vision. \u2013 adds the Vice-Chancellor. \u2013 We\u2019re not standing still. We\u2019re developing, for we believe education can change lives.
The School isn\u2019t only a\u00a0place to acquire knowledge \u2013 it\u2019s a\u00a0space where relationships and a\u00a0sense of purpose are essential. There\u2019s a\u00a0belief in this community that education can truly change lives \u2013 thus each and every day, a\u00a0future based on values is being built with commitment.

The chancellor and founder, Stanis\u0142aw Widocki, underlines: \u2013 From the very beginning, I\u00a0believed that an academy with a\u00a0soul and a\u00a0mission could be established in Brzeg. Today, I\u2019m proud to see its development we owe to passionate people \u2013 such as the Rector and our entire Team.
